Atlantis & Lemuria
The Claim
Before 75,000 BCE, the book says, Earth hosted "Atlanta" and "Lemur" — "electronic, space opera cultures" founded by refugees from advanced civilizations. They were destroyed, possibly by Old Empire pursuit, possibly by volcanism: the book assigns the Toba and Krakatoa eruptions to the destruction of Lemur, with the fallout described as "40 days and 40 nights" of rain. Lemurians are named as ancestors of the Chinese; Australia as a Lemurian center. [CLAIMED.]
The anchor is real and spectacular: the Toba super-eruption, roughly 74,000 years ago, was one of the largest volcanic events in Earth's history, with global cooling in its aftermath. The book borrows it. Then observe the borrowing: "40 days and 40 nights" is a biblical number doing heavy lifting — a phrase imported to make a volcano sound like a judgment. The eruption is verified. The space opera is claimed. The raincoat is borrowed.
The Verdict
case openScore it in layers. Verified: Toba erupted ~74,000 years ago; it was catastrophic; it cooled the planet. Claimed: that it destroyed an electronic civilization called Lemur, that refugees founded "Atlanta," that Australians and Chinese descend from Lemurians. The book's timeline brushes against the real date — close enough to sound informed, which is exactly how borrowed credibility works. When a submerged structure makes the news, run the test the book invites: the claim requires an electronic culture. A stone foundation is not that. Do not upgrade the evidence. CASE OPEN — and the bar is set where the book set it. What do you think? *wink*
